The Depot, located at 37 St. John Street on the waterfront adjacent to the Blockhouse in Merrickville, is our main retail outlet and Rideau interpretive centre. The Depot is open daily, from mid-June through to the end of September.

At The Depot, your hosts, Dave and Jeanne Brett will be more than happy to provide you with any Rideau information that you may require. We also offer an array of retail items. Proceeds from the sale of these items helps to fund the work of the Friends of the Rideau. Items offered for sale include:

Books Prints T-Shirts
Videos More Books Hats
Charts Pins Yet More Books
Sweatshirts Maps and much more

For a listing of some of the items available at The Depot, visit our online store:

The Depot also offers a wide array of tourist literature for the region and lots of free advice on how you can make your Rideau visit more enjoyable. There is a small theatre in which you can view Parks Canada videos about the Rideau. In addition, Dave Brett often keeps his canal narrowboat, the "Iron Duke" moored on the waterfront next to the Depot. It is one of only two narrowboats on the Rideau. Take a few moments to have a look.

The Depot
The Depot is chock-a-block full of all sorts of interesting stuff.

And if you gotta go ... it is reputed that we have the nicest public washroom facility in Merrickville.

For more information or to place a product order, give The Depot a call at:
