This section will list some of the sources of tourist information for the Rideau Canal Waterway. Note, some of these sources will take you off this website so please add us to your favorites lists first.

This Website

On this website, you can find information about, and purchase maps (charts) and books and several other interesting items. You will also find several downloadable brochures and guides, including Parks Canada's Rideau Canal Brochure & Map and Watson's Guide to the Rideau.


Rideau Canal Office

The Rideau Canal Office of Parks Canada, located in Smiths Falls, operates the Rideau. Upon request, they will mail you an information package about the canal. This package contains several local tourism publications, plus info about the canal (lockage permits, fees, maps, operating schedule, etc.). To receive a package, send an email directly to: RideauCanal-info@pc.gc.ca. Please be specific about what you would like to do on your Rideau visit so that the package can be tailored to your needs. Also be sure to include your full postal mailing address in your email.

It is your on-line guide for information about fees, lockage schedules, coming events, accommodations (campgrounds, hotels, B&Bs, etc.), boating, canoeing, boat rentals, marinas, driving tours, bicycling, hiking, trip planners, and much more.
